Zapier is a powerful automation tool that allows you to connect MarkUp.io with thousands of other tools, enabling you to automate repetitive tasks and save time. In this article, we'll show you how to integrate MarkUp.io with Zapier in just a few easy steps.
Before we get started, you'll need to make sure you have the following:
- A Zapier account (Zapier offers free plans!).
- A MarkUp.io account.
Follow the interactive step by step below or continue down for our written instrictions:
Accept MarkUp.io Zap beta invitation
In order to take part you’ll need to start your experience from MarkUp.io
- Select Zapier via the integrations tab (in your Workspace settings) and click 'Get Started' (or click here).
- When prompted, log into Zapier (if you’re already logged in you won’t see this step).
- You can then accept our invite by clicking (you guessed it!) 'Accept Invite & Build a Zap'.
Creating a New Zap
- Log in to your Zapier account and click 'Make a Zap!' in the top navigation menu.
- Choose 'MarkUp.io' as the trigger app.
Setting Up the Trigger
- Choose the trigger event you want to use, such as 'MarkUp created' and click 'Continue'.
- Select the account you want to link to the trigger event.
- Enter your API Key from MarkUp.io (you’ll find this in your integrations tab under 'Zapier') and click 'Continue'.
- You’ll then be prompted to test the trigger - this isn’t essential, but it helps when building the next step. To ‘Test Trigger’ you’ll need to do the event you set up earlier ('MarkUp created' in this example). So simply click 'Test Trigger' and then quickly create a new MarkUp in your linked MarkUp.io account. (You can click Test Trigger and Skip if you want to move on!)
Configuring the Action
- Select the app you want to use as the action app, such as Google Sheets or Trello.
- Choose the specific action you want to take, such as 'Create a new row' or 'Create a new card'.
- Fill in the required fields and customize the action as needed.
Testing the Zap
- Once you've configured the trigger and action, click "Test this Zap" to ensure it works correctly.
- Follow the prompts to test the Zap and make any necessary adjustments.
If you encounter any issues during the integration process, here are some common solutions:
- Check your API keys and authentication settings
- Make sure you've linked the correct MarkUp.io account
- Double-check the fields you've filled in for the action app
